The Institute of Accreditation for Economics, Management, Business, and Accounting Programs (LAMEMBA) underwent a significant external evaluation from June 19-21, 2025, as part of its effort to achieve alignment with the International Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in Tertiary Education (ISGs) issued by the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE). This evaluation visit took place in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The external review panel, comprising international experts, conducted a three-day working visit to LAMEMBA. The panel was led by Prof. Siong Choy Chong (Chair), Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law at Taylor’s University, Malaysia; joined by Dr. Tariq AL-Sindi, Secretary General of the Arab Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ANQAHE) from Bahrain; and Ms. Fiona Crozier, an Independent Consultant from the United Kingdom, who served as the Panel Secretary.
The purpose of this evaluation was to assess the extent to which LAMEMBA’s operations align with the international standards and guidelines set by INQAAHE for quality assurance in higher education. This visit represents LAMEMBA’s commitment to enhancing the quality of its accreditation services and strengthening its position globally, particularly in economics, management, business, and accounting. During the visit, the panel reviewed LAMEMBA’s policies, procedures, and documentation, conducted interviews with leadership and staff, and examined the framework for external reviews of higher education providers.
LAMEMBA welcomed this external review as a crucial step towards continuous quality improvement. The evaluation by INQAAHE provides an independent and international perspective on LAMEMBA’s accreditation system and offers recommendations for further enhancement. Achieving alignment with the ISG standards is expected to strengthen public trust in LAMEMBA’s accreditation processes and outcomes and open broader opportunities for collaboration with international accreditation bodies and higher education institutions.
