Tokyo, Japan – A delegation from the Institute of Accreditation for Economics, Management, Business, and Accounting Programs (LAMEMBA) took part in the 18th Biennial Conference of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE), held in Tokyo from May 13 to 16, 2025. This international event, hosted by the Japan University Accreditation Association (JUAA), was themed “The Big Bang Theory: The Quality Assurance Paradigm Shift,” and explored the rapid transformations shaping quality assurance in higher education globally.
The conference gathered quality assurance agencies, higher education leaders, and policymakers from around the world to discuss how accreditation systems must evolve in response to accelerating technological, social, and educational change. LAMEMBA’s participation marked a continued commitment to strengthening Indonesia’s accreditation practices in line with global standards.
Prof. Eddy R. Rasyid, Secretary of the Executive Board, and Prof. Christantius Dwiatmadja, a member of the Executive Board, represented LAMEMBA. Both engaged in rich discussions and knowledge exchanges across a variety of sessions, which covered themes such as sustainability in quality assurance, innovative learning pathways, artificial intelligence in education, and international recognition of credentials.
In addition to keynote speeches and panel discussions, the conference featured workshops, regional networking events, and the INQAAHE General Assembly. LAMEMBA contributed insights into Indonesia’s autonomous accreditation framework and the unique challenges and successes faced in accrediting programs in economics, management, business, and accounting.
Throughout the event, the LAMEMBA delegates gained valuable exposure to emerging trends in digital transformation, competency-based learning, and global mobility of qualifications. These insights are expected to inform future developments in LAMEMBA’s accreditation criteria and institutional support strategies.
Beyond the formal agenda, the conference also provided critical networking opportunities. LAMEMBA strengthened its relationships with regional and international counterparts, laying the groundwork for future collaborations in training, research, and mutual recognition.
Returning from Tokyo, LAMEMBA brings with it a renewed vision and deeper understanding of the shifts driving global quality assurance. The ideas and experiences shared at INQAAHE 2025 will help shape LAMEMBA’s strategic direction as it continues to support the advancement of private higher education in Indonesia.
LAMEMBA extends its sincere gratitude to JUAA and INQAAHE for organizing a timely and impactful event that continues to shape the future of higher education quality assurance worldwide.
