Singapore, August 25, 2026 — The Independent Accreditation Agency for Economics, Management, Business, and Accounting Programs (LAMEMBA) conducted an institutional visit to the AACSB International Asia Pacific office in Singapore. The visit marked an important step in strengthening communication and exploring opportunities for collaboration to advance the quality of business education in Indonesia and the surrounding region.
The LAMEMBA delegation was led by the Chair of its Executive Board, Prof. Dr. Ina Primiana, and was welcomed by Mr. Geoff Perry, Executive Vice President and Chief Membership Officer, Asia Pacific, Americas and Membership, AACSB International.
Held in a warm and constructive atmosphere, the meeting provided both organizations with an opportunity to exchange perspectives on the developments, challenges, and emerging opportunities facing business education in an increasingly dynamic global environment. The discussion highlighted the importance of relevant, adaptive, and impact-oriented quality assurance systems in supporting the continuous development of business education institutions.
During the meeting, LAMEMBA introduced LAMEMBA International Accreditation, an initiative scheduled to be launched in September 2026. The initiative reflects LAMEMBA’s commitment to expanding its contribution to quality enhancement in economics, management, business, and accounting education at the international level. LAMEMBA also invited AACSB representatives to attend the official launch.
AACSB shared information about two major events to be held in the ASEAN region: Elevate: Asia Pacific, scheduled for December 1–2, 2026, in Jakarta, Indonesia, and the International Conference and Meetings—ICAM 2027, scheduled for April 5–7, 2027, in Bangkok, Thailand. AACSB invited LAMEMBA to attend and participate in both events as part of the broader Asia Pacific business education community.
The meeting also addressed the AACSB Global Standards for Business Education™, which became effective in July 2026. The standards provide a global framework for continuous improvement and impact in business education, emphasizing strategic management, learner success, and pathways to impact. They offer important guidance for business schools navigating technological transformation, evolving workforce expectations, and complex societal challenges.
LAMEMBA and AACSB also explored other potential areas of cooperation aimed at strengthening institutional capacity, facilitating knowledge and good-practice exchange, and promoting business education that is relevant, impactful, and sustainable.
The visit reaffirmed that advancing business education requires open dialogue, mutual learning, and collaboration across institutions. Through a stronger relationship with AACSB, LAMEMBA seeks to further enhance its contribution to business education in Indonesia while supporting the continued development of the wider regional ecosystem.
