Jakarta, September 14, 2026<\/span><\/i> \u2013 The Institute of Accreditation for Economics, Management, Business and Accounting Programs (LAMEMBA) has entered into an international partnership with the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on higher education quality assurance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The agreement establishes a framework for collaboration in quality assurance and accreditation, while opening new avenues for both agencies to expand quality assurance networks between Indonesia and Taiwan.<\/span><\/p>\n

The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Ina Primiana, Executive Director of LAMEMBA, and Prof. Dr. Kuang-Chao Yu, Executive Director of HEEACT. The agreement is valid for five years from the date of the final signature and may be extended by mutual consent.<\/span><\/p>\n

The partnership is grounded in a shared vision and common institutional goals in advancing the quality of higher education. As an initial step, the two agencies met on July 7, 2026, to explore potential areas of cooperation. Discussions identified several opportunities, including staff exchanges, joint seminars, joint accreditation, collaborative research, and enhanced student mobility for higher education institutions in both countries.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the MoU now in place, LAMEMBA and HEEACT have agreed to pursue initiatives that deliver mutual benefits while contributing to stronger external quality assurance and higher education standards in Indonesia and Taiwan. The collaboration also forms part of broader efforts to advance internationalization in the delivery and quality assurance of higher education in both countries.<\/span><\/p>\n

Scope of Cooperation<\/b><\/p>\n

The MoU covers several key areas. The first is mutual understanding, through which both parties will deepen their knowledge of each country’s approaches to and systems of higher education quality assurance. The agencies have also committed to information exchange and transparency, sharing updates on their activities, processes, and higher education system developments, as well as issues related to quality assurance and academic standards.<\/span><\/p>\n

LAMEMBA and HEEACT will further explore capacity building for staff and assessors\/reviewers through staff and reviewer exchanges, observation of quality assurance review processes, and training programs.<\/span><\/p>\n

The agreement also provides for the use of each other’s expertise, enabling both agencies to draw on the experience of each other’s auditors, assessors, accreditors, and specialists to strengthen the international dimension of institutional review and accreditation, including potential joint involvement in cross-border accreditation and review.<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, the two agencies may jointly organize seminars, conferences, workshops, and training sessions, undertake activities related to quality assurance of transnational education, and conduct research on quality assurance issues. They may also support student mobility and share information on institutions, awarding bodies, and accreditation agencies in Indonesia and Taiwan.<\/span><\/p>\n

Expanding International Partnerships<\/b><\/p>\n

The signing marks a shared commitment by LAMEMBA and HEEACT to build closer institutional ties in support of higher education quality and development at the regional and international levels.<\/span><\/p>\n

Through this partnership, LAMEMBA continues to expand its international network and create space for the exchange of knowledge, experience, and good practices in higher education quality assurance. The collaboration with HEEACT is expected to contribute to ongoing efforts to strengthen the quality assurance ecosystem and advance the internationalization of higher education in Indonesia.<\/span><\/p>\n
